Lawrence Hutson, is a computer scientist and economist, an OG in the Web3 space and is a prominent member of Cointelegraph's Innovation Circle. As software visionary, Hutson has been at the forefront of some of the world’s most disruptive technological advances. As far back as 1993, while contracted to Verizon/GTE, he helped shape the creation of the global internet based on TCP/IP. In his role as co-founder and CTO of Travelocity circa 1995, Hutson created the Internet’s first-ever travel-booking website, growing it to the world’s largest e-commerce site at the time. After founding Nexgen Travel Distribution in Germany in 2005, Hutson led the company through Seed, Series A, and Series B funding rounds. Thanks to his ingenuity, Nexgen filed for multiple travel tech-related patents. In his tenure as CTO at Sequoya Analytics, he headed up a predictive modelling SaaS for numerous international Fortune 400 companies. Since his foray into the blockchain space in 2018, someone has closely associated Hutson with several disruptive projects establishing world-first use cases for distributed ledger technology. He co-founded CRMAdapt, the first decentralised customer relationship management system to hit the market. Serving in his capacity as CTO, he has spanned the breadth of the industry, including Crypto Exchange Alliance and VC firm and incubator Master Ventures.
